Marinapy learnings after 5 months

Launching a product is rarely a straight sail — it’s more about tacking, adjusting, and sometimes changing course ⛵️. After five months of operations, we wanted to share 4 key learnings that have already reshaped Marinapy’s positioning.
Marinapy resonates strongly with small to mid-size, family-run. With pre-digitized maps, self-service onboarding, ready-to-use pricing and operational models, and a boater app, these marinas can go digital overnight. Today, they’re using Marinapy across North America, Europe, and beyond 🌍.
We also discovered strong traction from private-equity-backed marina groups and public or institutional marina networks (typically 5–20 marinas). These operators value sleek digital experiences, standardization, and cross-marina interoperability — all built natively into Marinapy.
Our initial freemium model wasn’t as clear as we thought. We simplified it:
- Free for marinas under 100 berths
- Flat, affordable fee for larger marinas
The result: clearer messaging and faster adoption.
While not on our original roadmap, growing boater traffic led us to launch a booking flow. Marinapy now references 20,000 marinas worldwide, with 10,000 already bookable, and marinas can handle enquiries in real time — for free.
These adjustments help us stay closely aligned with market demand and our customers’ needs. If you think Marinapy can go further, we’re always listening — feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Marinapy is the fastest way to digitalize a marina.
With 20,000 marinas and 3+ million berths already mapped worldwide, harbor masters simply claim their marina on the map and instantly manage bookings, customers, invoicing, payments, and operations in one place — while boaters benefit from a dedicated app interoperable across the entire network of marinas.
The result: less administration, fewer surprises, and the peace of mind to focus on running a smooth, stress-free marina.
